Trommel screen failure and repair

The trommel screen is a special screening equipment developed for the building materials, metallurgy, chemical industry, mining and other industries. 1. Loose equipment bolts

Fault manifestation: The equipment is noisy during operation.

Repair method: Retighten the bolts or other fasteners.

2. The trommel screen rotates in the wrong direction

Fault manifestation: The trommel screen cannot rotate in the expected direction.

Repair method: Check whether the motor power cable is connected incorrectly. If there is a problem, replace the power cable in the junction box.

3. The motor starts slowly

Fault manifestation: The torque is insufficient when the motor starts, resulting in the slow start of the trommel screen.

Repair method: Check whether the conveying volume exceeds the allowable value. If the conveying volume is too large, the conveying volume needs to be readjusted.

4. Gearbox heating

Fault manifestation: The gearbox temperature is too high.

Maintenance method: Check whether the ventilation in the box is sufficient and whether the lubricant is sufficient. If there is a problem, adjust the vents to dissipate heat and add lubricant.

5. Motor heating

Fault manifestation: The motor temperature is too high.

Maintenance method:

Clean the heat sink of the motor to ensure good heat dissipation.

Check whether the fan impeller is working properly and ensure smooth air circulation.

Check whether the motor connection line is loose. If it is loose, tighten the connection.

Check whether the star-delta connection of the motor is correct. If there is a problem, reconnect it.

Ensure that the motor cooling time is sufficient to avoid overloading the motor.

6. Sieve hole blockage

Fault manifestation: The sieve hole is blocked by materials, affecting the screening efficiency.

Maintenance method: Clean the garbage that blocks the sieve hole in time to reduce blockage.

7. Bearing heating

Fault manifestation: The bearing temperature is too high.

Maintenance method:

Check whether the bearing is severely worn. If it is severely worn, the bearing needs to be replaced.

Check whether the lubricant is distributed in place. If the lubricant is insufficient, add lubricant.

For shaftless trommel screens, special attention should be paid to the daily maintenance of the screen surface, and the screen surface should be cleaned in time to ensure the use of the screen, thereby improving the output and screening accuracy. At the same time, the motor, as the power source of the trommel screen, also needs regular maintenance, such as regular replacement of lubricating oil and attention to the motor temperature at any time.
